Click it up a notch

So I decided to participate of the fun with all the ladies from the Click it up a notch on the May contest.
It is hard to choose only one photo, but here is my favorite of the month.

One of my blog friends suggested a quote for this photo and I love it  "You gotta keep searching for your dreams"!  Thank you Catherine

  3. This is a beautiful photo!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love to take pictures of what lately seems, EVERYTHING!
My lilac collage was made using photoshop elements. Just layers on layers.
I can do this on Picasa too but to get a longer background {this collage is 6 in wide and 10 in long} I opened a blank document and set the measurements to 6x10, took opened photos, select ALL, copy, then go back to my blank document and paste. This proly doesn't make sense if you haven't use a form of photoshop. You can watch YouTube videos on how to layer photos. Pugley Pixel is a great educator.
Anyway, if you were not asking that but wanted to know how I took the photos, I used a macro lens and pointed it so the sun was backlighting the lilacs and used manual settings and allowed the light meter to be about 2 stops too bright. It worked well. I did this at the end of the day when the sun was setting.
    Cheers to you!
