365 | 2 Water

Some people say that choosing a word at the beginning of the year, and focusing on that,  will help you to live by your word in ways that you cannot imagine. Your word will become part of you, and that will work better than any new year’s resolution.

                              I agree.

Last year I chose Transformation, and what a hard word to live by. Lots of things changed in my life... some really bad ... others very good ... and all the things in between. It was a crazy year, with lots of ups and downs. But at the end,  I survived and still standing with lots of hope for 2014.

So for this year my word is WATER because water it is what we are. We are born in water... our bodies are mostly made of water .... we need water to survive .... to heal ... to rebirth ... to be.

My word chose me a while ago while watching the Memoirs of a Geisha. I am obsessed with this movie.  It is emotional, real and has an amazing photography (try to watch it). Anyway, in the movie there is a quote about water, and that was my inspiration.

So be it... I have chosen more than a word this year. I chose an element to live by. I guess the challenge will be even greater this year, but I am up to the task.

“I can see you have a great deal of water in your personality. Water never waits. It changes shape and flows around things, and finds the secret paths no one else has thought about -- the tiny hole through the roof or the bottom of the box. There's no doubt it's the most versatile of the five elements. It can wash away earth; it can put out fire; it can wear a piece of metal down and sweep it away. Even wood, which is its natural complement, can't survive without being nurtured by water. And yet, you haven't drawn on those strengths in living your life, have you?”
Arthur Golden, Memoirs of a Geisha
